of course, there was the boy band wednesday. closely followed by:
an "exhibition" (read: carnival) where we were told to "play games, play games" and instead forced thai kids to answer questions about america and put star stickers all over a map of the US. the point was to see where they wanted to visit. but things quickly turned into a game of "what is the most obscure place in the US that i could convince a thai child to want to visit?"
and this can't be school. this is a karaoke market.
and this is a girl very seriously belting "Hero" by Mariah Carey. We were made to come to school on a Saturday simply to watch some kids do karaoke and then embarrass ourselves by singing Que Sera Sera.
I'm not exactly sure if teaching is going on here. also not sure if I mind.

after you told me you wrote this, i wrote nearly the exact same thing without even looking. but i'm still pretty sure this is some sort of creative infringement, so you can go ahead and sue me.
ReplyDeletethat sounds AWESOME!!!!
ReplyDeleteMan! I'm jealous! At orientation here they told us we would be playing a lot of games with the students, but so far at my schools it's been mostly work :( haha. I so need to transfer to Thailand!
